The Heroes and Character Edition
|
This is a time when we need heroes, and to know that people can make a positive difference in the world. This week, I added 50 new hero biographies to HeroPrintables.com, and the site now has 150 profiles of a diverse array of people from the past and present, representing athletics, human rights, STEM fields, the arts, and more.
These hero profiles are free to download and will also join those appearing at my daily printables site PrintablesToday.com. Each day, a “hero of the day” is featured, along with vocabulary words, holidays (official and for fun), a weekly planner, a monthly calendar, a puzzle, and a list of what’s new at the FreePrintable.net sites.
Good character is also important. I recently added nearly two dozen new character reference letter templates to CharacterReferenceLetters.com. Each is free to customize for your use.
Please visit the FreePrintable.net Patreon page, where you can consider making a monthly pledge to support the creation of new printables. Thank you!

I’m so pleased that HeroPrintables.com, a site I started less than a year ago, already has 150 biographies, with more on the way. Each hero biography is free to download and print individually, and a convenient all-in-one download of all the site’s heroes is available for $39. The historical and present-day figures featured are from a wide range of backgrounds, and
the worksheets were researched and created especially for this site.
Each biography downloads as a PDF and is illustrated in color or black and white with a photo or drawing of the individual, when available.
The heroes include trailblazers for civil rights, women’s rights, worker rights, and LGBTQ rights. Plus, learn about leaders in politics, environmental causes, science, technology, and medicine. Also featured are artists and sports heroes.
The biographies expand knowledge in school or at-home settings, with dozens of bios of people whose contributions are widely known and others who are not “household names.” Just a few of the heroes whose biographies have just been added to HeroPrintables.com are: Ruby Bridges, Billie Jean King, Dolores Huerta, Temple Grandin, Marie Curie, Mahatma Gandhi, Rosalind Franklin, and Jonathan Larson.
The site also has profiles of Eleanor Roosevelt, Flossie Wong-Staal, Henrietta Lacks, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Charles Richard Drew, and many others.
Each day, a different hero is featured on PrintablesToday.com. Be sure to bookmark the daily printables site and check back daily to also see vocabulary words, holidays, a weekly planner, a monthly calendar, a puzzle, and what’s new at the FreePrintable.net sites.

There are 20 new letter templates at CharacterReferenceLetters.com, each ready to download and customize any time you want to vouch for someone in employment, academic, personal, or legal matters.
The site now has 288 sample character reference letters. Just pick one that suits your situation and then type into the template, using the example paragraphs to help you find the right words.
CharacterReferenceLetters.com also has several articles about how to ask for or write a reference letter.
The new letters include sample references for a private investigator and a political candidate. There are a few letters that are especially relevant during the coronavirus pandemic, such as a covid-safety testimonial and references for delivery drivers, essential workers, and gig workers.
I’ve also added brief testimonials for a trustworthy coach, a costumed actor, a tour guide, a college entry consultant, and a personal shopper.
CharacterReferenceLetters.com has letters to add perspective related to legal matters such as probation, immigration, and adoption. One new letter addresses a name change, while another speaks on behalf of someone who was wrongfully convicted of a crime.
The letters download instantly in DOC (Microsoft Word). Or, simply cut and paste a letter’s text directly from the site. Each is free to download, edit, and print for your personal use.
Please keep sending me your ideas for new printables. And don’t forget to visit the FreePrintable.net Patreon page and consider becoming a member with a monthly pledge. Thanks and happy printing!
