Whether you’re in the position of employee, friend, or politician, it’s not easy to say you’re sorry. Even if the sentiment is sincere, it’s hard to find the right words to
express your regret. That’s why I created ApologyLetters.net, which now has articles with tips on how to craft an apology letter as well as 269 sample letters.
Download any example letter free and use it as a starting point to write an apology that suits your
situation.
The new letters include several for workplace situations such as not replying to an email, seeking help after a mistake, revealing company secrets, lying on a resume, working slowly, and general backstabbing and office politics type misbehavior.
There are example letters from businesses to customers, such as apologizing for not retuning a phone call, inaccurate
billing, and false promises.
I’ve also added letter templates for personal apologies. Topics cover: taking advantage of a friend’s free babysitting, accidentally giving someone lice, damaging property, using hurtful language, engaging in a political argument, and other regrettable events.
Other new letters include apologies for statements on social media, including a
140-character apology Tweet. And, partly for fun because it breaks all the rules of apologies, I’ve included a “fauxpology” for when you really don’t mean it at all. There’s even a blanket apology for when you’ve done too many wrong things to even innumerate.
ApologyLetters.net has sample letters for children and teens who need to apologize. This batch of letters also includes one for apologizing for the behavior of a rude
friend.
All of the letters are free. They download instantly in DOC format so you can type over the existing text in Microsoft Word or another compatible program, or simply cut and paste the wording directly from the
website.
