The Birthday Edition
It’s my birthday! Well, it’s almost my birthday. The day after you get this newsletter I’ll be partying it up with cake and/or pie. One thing I love to get for my birthday is ideas for new printables. Please email me, if you’re so inclined, and let me know what you’d like to see next at the FreePrintable.net sites.

This week, I added two dozen new pleading papers and templates for law offices and courthouses to LegalPleadingTemplate.com. Plus, there are 25 new reference letter templates at CharacterReferenceLetters.com.
Legal Templates
I’ve added new legal forms, court templates, and pleading paper to LegalPleadingTemplate.com. The printables at this site are handy for law offices and courthouses and, since they are free, are a money saver for cash-strapped law school students and for people representing themselves in court. There is an entire category of forms for notary publics.

Many of the 24 new additions are court forms pre-formatted and ready to fill in and submit in any jurisdiction that allows them. There’s a motion to dismiss, estate forms for distribution of assets, a breach of contract petition, simple eviction and injunction forms, and a petition for a name change.

I’ve also added a few new letter templates relating to settlement offers, counteroffers, rejections, and acceptances.

There are also forms for family courts, such as divorce and child support and custody affidavits as well as worksheets to inventory assets and prepare for hearings or mediation.

There are some new variations of legal pleading paper, too, including state-specific paper and versions with varying numbers of lines and spacing. Be sure to check with the court in your area for its specifications.

Everything at LegalPleadingTemplate.com is free to download and print individually. However, since time is money, especially in the legal world, I also offer a time-saving instant download of the entire legal forms collection of 275 templates and pleading papers for $99.

Now, we’re not attorneys, so if it’s legal advice you need, be sure to seek it.
Character References
Whether you’re vouching for someone or someone is vouching for you, the best way to get these opinions on the record is via a character reference letter. I’ve just added 25 new letters to CharacterReferenceLetters.com, so there are now 139 letter templates at the site.

Character reference letters are similar to a letter of recommendation (I have a site for those, too! It’s LettersOfRecommendation.net). But CharacterReferenceLetters.com is less focused on job-related letters. The site does have a nice selection of letters related to employment, but there are also messages relating to personal character, which is important for someone going to court, adopting a child, serving in a volunteer capacity, setting educational goals, and other matters.

There’s a new character reference for someone seeking to rent a house, someone seeking to have a court record expunged, someone seeking a reduction in bail, and other situations.

I’ve also added letters to the Testimonials section of the site. These are the types of notes that can be included in salespersons’ portfolios, on companies’ websites, and other places where a client’s opinion will be appreciated by a business and helpful to a customer. There are testimonials for a dentist, a therapist, a travel agency, a nutritionist, a book, and more.
CharacterReferenceLetters.com also has several articles with tips on how to ask for a letter of reference, how to write one, and even how to decline to write one.

All of the letters are free to download and edit in Microsoft Word (or any DOC-compatible program) or simply cut and paste the text directly from the site. While you’re welcome to use the letters as-is, I recommend using these letters as a jumping off point to adjust the wording to suit your own situation.
Thanks for sending me your ideas for new stuff. I’m off to celebrate my birthday. Happy printing!
