My family’s week has started on a high note, with my wife completing yet
another race: the Rock ’n’ Roll half-marathon in Portland. Apropos because she rocks.

When you’re looking for a job, you need a nicely laid out resume that doesn’t look like a cookie-cutter
template that came with your word processing software. InstantResumeTemplates.com has more than 200 designs from which to choose, all free to download and print.
Each element of the resumes is already positioned for you. Just type over the placeholder text with your own name, contact information, and wording.
The two dozen new resume designs include traditional chronological resumes as
well as a few informal designs, and some very simple layouts that can be scanned by most human resources systems.
There’s a new selection of academic resumes for use by those in education, or who are
seeking scholarships or entry to graduate school.
Some of the resumes are tailored to specific businesses. The new industry resumes include: chef (complete with spaces for food photos), music and
sports.
This batch of additions also includes altogether new styles of resumes, including two that highlight professional achievements in break-out boxes with and without bullet points. Another design has space for a quote from an impressive professional reference.
A few resumes address specific
situations such as a transition from military to career work, an older worker, part-time employees, and people who are bouncing back from a criminal record.
InstantResumeTemplates.com is a sister site to CoverLetterExamples.net, which has 147 cover
letter templates to inspire your own message to potential employers. Everything at both sites is absolutely free to download, alter, and print.

It’s a banner day. (Sorry!) There are 23 new banners at PrintableBanners.net with phrases already formatted and ready to print. There’s one character on each sheet of paper, so you can hang huge messages or tape them to a wall for all to see.
There are also seasonal and holiday banners. The summer banners have messages such as: “Pool Party,” Snack Shack,” Plus, you’ll find new birthday banners including “Happy Sweet Sixteen” and “Surprise.”
There’s also a “Lemonade” banner (in yellow type,
of course), “Just Married,” “Mazel Tov,” “Toy Drive,” “Walk-a-Thon,” “We Missed You,” and several banners welcoming home members of the military.
I’ve added new business banners, including “Grand Re-Opening,” “Job Fair,” and “Now
Leasing.” These large, bold banners are more dynamic than simple signs and sure to catch attention.
PrintableBanners.net also has a free custom banner maker. You can use it to generate and print as many banners as you would like. Just type in your
message, choose a text color and font, choose a style (filled or ink-saving outline), and click the button.
There are now 176 banners at PrintableBanners.net, not counting the infinite number that can be made using the banner maker. Again, all the banners are free, as is use of the custom banner maker.
I have more printables on the way, but please keep sending me your ideas. Thanks and happy printing!
