Too Cool for School Edition

The last couple of weeks have marked wonderful anniversaries: 17 years since the birth of my first daughter. Four years since my family's move to Portland, Oregon. Great moves in both cases. Even though I was busy celebrating, I was able to add dozens of new printables to the FreePrintable.net sites.

It's back to school time and, appropriately enough, I added a large selection of new classroom printables to TeachersPrintables.net and also expanded the sign language illustrations at SignLanguagePrintables.com to include "baby signs."

Classroom Printables

TeachersPrintables.net is now home to more than 500 forms, charts, grading aids, management tools, and other classroom printables designed especially for teachers, homeschooling parents, and students.

The recent round of new teachers printables includes a selection of letter and number stencils to print, cut out, and use. There are also several simple signs to label classrooms or materials by grade level. I've added book bin labels, a grade point average calculator, a report card template, and a parent conference schedule. Plus there are several foldables such as booklets, cause-and-effect lists, envelopes, a Venn diagram, and more.

Other new printables include logs and sign-in sheets such as a borrowed items log and classroom inventory list. There are several new diagrams and graphic organizers, along with several variations of poem structure samples. You'll also find printable copies of the U.S. Bill of Rights and Constitution.

TeachersPrintables.net has dozens of attendance and grading forms, lesson plan templates, seating charts, and hall passes, as well as printables for libraries and school nurse offices. There's also an entire category for substitute teachers.

Everything at TeachersPrintables.net is free to download and print individually. It's just $27 for a classroom license that allows a teacher to download the entire collection at once to save and print again and again. A whole-school license is $67.

There are even more school printables available at PrintablePaper.net as well as InstantWorksheets.net, PrintableFlashCards.net, and FreeWordSearch.net.

Sign Language Printables

The 241 printables at SignLanguagePrintables.com now include baby signs, so adults can teach pre-verbal children how to communicate with simple hand movements.

The 48 baby signs, which are available with either black-and-white outline or color graphics, join individual fingerspelling letters as well as charts illustrating the entire sign language alphabet and numbers.

The easy-to-interpret baby sign illustrations are unique to SignLanguagePrintables.com, but follow the most commonly used signs for babies, such as: "done," "hurt," " milk," "outside," "want," "play," "afraid," and several animal signs. Where there is more than one motion involved in the sign, all parts are included on the printable. They're ideal for parents but also other family members and caregivers and help curb frustration when a little one is trying to communicate.

Everything at SignLanguagePrintables.com is free to download and print.

Thank you for all your feedback, and for your ideas for new printables. I have new stuff on the way to you soon, so fire up your printer! Happy printing!
