Besides the wearing of thick fall sweaters here in Portland, this week marks the start of something new I'm trying with my two newest printables sites, OpenOfficeTemplates.com and LibreOfficeTemplates.net
. I've had so many requests for templates that are compatible with OpenOffice and LibreOffice. (If you haven't heard of them, those are free office suites, with word processors and spreadsheet apps and other tools.) I'm excited about this, because both of those are free programs that anyone can use on virtually any computer platform: Windows, Mac, and Linux. And I'm all about "free," especially when it comes to students, teachers, or anyone for whom money is especially tight.
Many of the forms and charts from the FreePrintable.net sites already work with OpenOffice and other .DOC-compatible word processing programs. But not all of those .DOC files work perfectly with OpenOffice and LibreOffice, which have their own native file formats (.ODS and .ODT.) So I've started converting my most popular printables to those formats, and making sure they look and work great in those apps. I hope these new sites prove popular and I'll continue to add more printables to them. Also this week I've added 22 new forms, charts, and other health-related printables to one of my most popular sites, FreePrintableMedicalForms.com.

Open Office & Libre Office |
If you're using either OpenOffice or LibreOffice, both free office suites, you may have found that some things from my FreePrintable.net sites won't open correctly in them. It's a bummer that some of my DOC-compatible printables work best in Microsoft Word, but of course I'll always quickly refund the cost of any premium printables that don't work with your system.
After hearing for quite some time from fans of OpenOffice and LibreOffice, I decided to convert some of my most popular printables to .ODT and .ODS format and offer them free on my new sites, OpenOfficeTemplates.com and LibreOfficeTemplates.net. I launched OpenOfficeTemplates.com with 40 .ODT templates representing the some of the best stuff from various FreePrintable.net sites, such as: work and employment templates, teachers printables, financial forms, medical templates, fax cover sheets, family trees, certificates, resumes, and more. Similarly, there are 40 free templates at LibreOfficeTemplates.net in .ODS form. These files will work with any version of the respective software, for any platform: Windows, Mac, or Linux. They're all free to instantly download, edit, and print.

I've added nearly two dozen new templates, charts, and logs to one of my most popular sites, FreePrintableMedicalForms.com, bringing the total of printables at the site to 316. FreePrintableMedicalForms.com complements my business forms site, BusinessFormTemplate.com
, which has more than 1,000 printables for business and home use. The new additions range from an eye chart to a veterinary outpatient form for the pet medical care category. There are new logs for tracking allergy symptoms, blood pressure (including a wallet-size log), sodium intake, and kids' medication. There are also printables relating to autism, anxiety, depression, exercise, massage therapy, I've also added several office forms for mental health services.
Everything at FreePrintableMedicalForms.com is free to download and print in PDF form. If you'd like a version you can open and edit in Microsoft Word, or, in most cases, other DOC-compatible word processing programs, opt for the premium $3.99 version. Or, you can have the entire medical forms collection on hand in one convenient download for $47.
Thanks so much for all your ideas, emails, and to those of you who have Liked FreePrintable.net on Facebook. Happy printing!
