Do Your Chores Edition

This week, I went to the Portland Maker Faire with the kids. There was a ton of cool stuff, both low-tech and high. Low tech: glassblowing, people making fire from sticks. High-tech: submarine robots, an R2D2 builders club (!), kids programming video games, lasers.

Then it was back to printables as well as projects around the house. Chores! I have chores, my teen has chores, and even our first-grader has chores. If you need help keeping children on task at home or at school, or if you just want to motivate yourself to get work done, check out the latest additions to ChoreCharts.net. I've also added new designs to PageBorders.net that are great for flyers, stationery, and other purposes.

New Chore Charts

I'll admit it: I don't like to do chores any more than my kids do. But even I find routine tasks easier to swallow if I can mark them off as I go along. The 16 newest additions to ChoreCharts.net include more variations of classic charts, plus: a study guide chart, a thermometer-themed chore tracker, homework punch cards, and a bank ledger for kids.

There are also new printables to help keep children on-task, such as "chore bucks," a chore punch card, and an allowance budget. The site also has behavior charts and reward charts for home and school as well as trackers for personal care such as tooth-brushing and potty training. There are music practice charts for students of all ages, and for grown-ups there are charts to assist in household tasks as well as reaching goals such as fitness, reading, and home improvement.

ChoreCharts.net also has full-color, illustrated charts relating to daily routines like getting ready for school or bedtime. Some of the new designs have a clock face so a parent or teacher can indicate when a particular activity (such as homework) should be done.

All of the nearly 90 chore charts are free to download and print in PDF form. Just write on them in pen or pencil or laminate them for durability. Or, pay $5 per design for a DOC format chart you can edit in Microsoft Word, adding custom chores, kids' names, rewards, and so on.

New Page Borders

PageBorders.net has 35 new borders ready to download and print to use as flyers, stationery, frames, signs, or any other use you can think of.

The new borders include several new dog breed borders (border collie!) as well as cute animal designs, such as jungle and forest creatures, that would be ideal for schoolchildren's letter-writing or artwork.

There are also a couple of new graduation-themed borders as well as borders with international themes, such as a Chinese dragon and Italian statues.

With 272 borders to choose from, in formal designs as well as more whimsical options, you're sure to find something that suits your needs. There are holiday borders , sports-themed designs, and other categories from which to choose.

The site has lots of choices for downloading and using the page borders. Each border is free as a Microsoft Word DOC, a PDF, or a PNG or JPG image. Many of the designs are also available in Adobe Illustrator (AI) format for those who would like to alter the structure of the border and otherwise customize it. The AI option is $7 per design and the file downloads instantly.

Please keep sending me your feedback and ideas for new printables. I enjoy your emails! Happy printing!
