Kevin's FreePrintable.net news
Oh, Baby
I'm taking a little extra family time next week, as well as the traditional "date night" with my wife in honor of Valentine's Day. Except in our case, we have a bit of an odd tradition in that we choose Feb. 14 to watch a notoriously bad movie with horrible reviews. Actually, the tradition chose us back in 1993 when we had the misfortune to see Addams Family Values. Since then, we've watched Solarbabies (dystopian rollerskating children), Kung Pow: Enter the Fist (the less said the better), From Justin to Kelly (does anyone even remember them?), and Bio-Dome. We haven't settled on an awful movie for this year's viewing, so if you have a suggestion, please send it along. Just make sure it's terrible.

If you'd like to get a jump on Valentine's Day, be sure to visit www.FreePrintableValentines.net for cards, www.FreePrintableGiftTags.net for gift tags, and www.FreePrintableColoringPages.net for Valentine's Day coloring pages. I'll have a full roundup for you next week.

In the last newsletter, I revealed two new websites (www.AsAFraction.com, for instantly converting decimals to fractions) and www.WritingTemplates.net (lined templates in various shapes and themes). Today, I've got another new site for you: www.PrintableBabyPlanner.com. Plus, I've added letter examples to both www.LettersOfRecommendation.net and www.CoverLetterExamples.net.
Printable Baby Planner
There's no need to bust the budget with a pre-made commercial baby book when you can print nearly two dozen baby planner pages for free at my newest Web site, www.PrintableBabyPlanner.com.

I've launched the site with 23 baby-related checklists, forms, and worksheets. They include everything from a baby supplies shopping list to charts for keeping track of diaper changes, sleep, and feedings (great for caregivers as well as parents.) There are daily and monthly planner pages, a grocery list, menu planner, food allergies log, and a general to-do list.

The printables aren't just for newborns. There's a childproofing checklist, teething charts, babysitters' forms, an immunization record, and more. For further customization, there is some matching blank lined paper to download and print for free as well.

The planner even has a cover and hole-punching guides so you can assemble your baby book in any three-ring binder or folder.

All of the pages are free to print individually as PDFs. However, if you'd like to be able to type into the page in Microsoft Word before printing, the DOC version is $5 per design. A more convenient, frugal option is to purchase the entire editable baby planner collection for $14.

The planner is a bright green and not gender-specific at all. It would make a great gift printed out and ready to present to a busy new mom or dad.
Recommendation & Cover Letters
Words matter when you're looking for a job, pursuing a scholarship, seeking entry to a club, or anything else that requires a recommendation or cover letter. I've recently added even more sample letters to my sites LettersOfRecommendation.net and CoverLetterExamples.net.

Including the 14 new additions, LettersOfRecommendation.net has 155 letter templates, along with articles with tips on how to write your own letter. You're welcome to use the samples as-is, but they're actually intended more as a framework for crafting your own letter.

There are recommendation letters for college and grad school, employment, domestic help, adoption, housing, internships, and more. LettersOfRecommendation.net also has character reference letters for criminal and custody cases. There are even some examples of how to write a letter requesting the favor or a reference. The newest additions include letters for: apprenticeship, joining a co-op, becoming a country club member, emancipation of a minor, foreign exchange, the seminary, professor tenure, and securing a visa. There are also job-related letters for recommending a massage therapist or personal trainer.

At CoverLetterExamples.net, there are articles and letter-writing tips as well as sample cover letters to accompany resumes, academic situations and grant and donation requests. There's also a selection of sales letters for business purposes. The latest letter templates address: acting, administrative assistant positions, bank tellers, government jobs, engineering, journalism, temp jobs, a portfolio, and more for a total of 20 new letters. There are now more than 70 sample letters from which to choose.

All of the letters at LettersOfRecommendation.net and CoverLetterExamples.net are free to download, edit, and print as a formatted document, or simply copy and paste the text directly from the site.

I hope you're enjoying the new sites. I have lots of new printables in the works, but I need your ideas, too, so please keep 'em coming. Happy printing!
