It's an exciting week around our house. My older daughter, Miller, is in her high school play. They're performing Murder Is My Business, a 1950s detective noir thriller. She plays a character who doesn't live to see the second act. But before intermission, she gets to stomp around onstage and cry a lot. She's stretching her acting chops and making Dad proud. This week, I added 50 new business card designs to FreePrintableBusinessCards.net
so there are now more than 1,100 cards at the site. Also, there are new letter examples at CharacterReferenceLetters.com, for all kinds of situations. | |

New Business Cards
|
The 50 new business cards at FreePrintableBusinessCards.net cover themes ranging from music to nature to abstract-looking metal. With 1,131 cards now at the site, I'm confident you'll find something that fits your business or personal needs.
Several of the illustrated cards are for specific industries, including: accountants, caregivers, doctors, disc jockeys, doctors, dog walkers, editors, and Reiki practitioners. Other designs feature objects such as: a DNA strand, a first aid kit, electrical cords, a gas pump, plants, a hat rack, guitars, headphones, the musculoskeletal system, water bottles, wedding bells, a wrench, a fly and even a green monster.I've added business cards with the skylines of Chicago, Miami, Minneapolis, and New York. Some match the FreePrintableStationery.net stationery I told you about last week.
Elsewhere on the site you'll find animal business cards, business cards for kids, and lots of corporate business cards. I also have a neat tool that will let you make a business card with a QR code printed on it containing the data of your choice.
There are two options for downloading and printing each business card. They're all DOC files you can open in Microsoft Word or another DOC-compatible program. The cards are free in the version that has www.FreePrintableBusinessCards.net at the bottom. If you'd like the ability to delete that URL, pay just $3 per design.

Character Reference Letters
|
If you've ever been called upon to write or request a character reference letter, you know they're not always easy to write. Often, a recommendation letter is needed for a job or other business situation, but you may also be called upon to vouch for the character of a friend or family member in court or elsewhere. CharacterReferenceLetters.com has 78 letter templates for cases as diverse as employment, scholarships, club membership, child custody, and probation.
The 14 new letters include a sample character reference for a boy attempting to secure the rank of Eagle Scout, a recommendation for a person wishing to join a golf club, and a reference for someone seeking security clearance. There are also several new letters for court-related situations, such as a reference for someone facing an assault charge, a traffic offense, or specific criminal cases. For employment seekers, there's a letter vouching for an applicant for their first job and a letter from a client. There's also a new sample letter intended for someone applying to medical school. The site also
has several articles with tips on letter writing, such as how to format a reference letter, whom to ask for such a letter, and writing for specific situations such as renting or school. The sample letters can be used almost as-is, or, even better, as a jumping-off point for crafting your own letter. The letters can be downloaded for free for Microsoft Word or other DOC-compatible programs, already in business letter format ready to type into and customize to suit your needs. Or, just copy and paste a letter's text directly from the site. Please keep those ideas and emails coming! I have lots more printables on the way, and I want to hear what you'd like to see next, whether it's additions to existing sites or entirely new sites. Thanks so much and happy printing!
