Reading and Rambling
Hi from Kevin at FreePrintable.net, where a busy printer is a happy printer.

I've got summer on my mind. I can tell it's near: the Portland, OR weather is warming up. My teenager is freaking out about final exams. And I'm daydreaming about what adventures my family might have in the coming months.

Besides travel, summer is also the perfect time to relax with a book, be it on the beach or just at home. I've got you covered, with 30 new free printable bookmarks at www.FreePrintableBookmarks.net and an array of monogrammed luggage tags at www.PrintableLuggageTags.com. My free and low-cost printables save you time and money, and that means more reading and traveling for you!

» Printable Bookmarks
Here at the Savetz household, we read a lot of books and we use a lot of bookmarks. Each of us usually has more than one book going at a time. (Sometimes I'm in the mood for fiction; other times nonfiction.) My wife is a voracious user of the public library, and the only thing worse than shouting in a library is dog-earring its books.

Now there are a whopping 180 free printable bookmarks at my site, FreePrintableBookmarks.net, some themed (sci-fi, mystery, Western, etc.) and others simply sweet or pretty. I've just added 30 new designs. The new bookmarks have cool illustrations such as: foods (great for cookbooks), teddy bears, flags of various countries, and ladybugs.

To use the bookmarks, just download them (they're PDFs), cut along the provided guides, and fold and tape or glue them together to assemble. You can even use a hole punch and yarn to add a little tassel to the top if you'd like. Print on regular paper or cardstock. Laminating would make them even more durable.

The site also has 65 bookplates so you can label the inside of your books, claiming them as your own. The bookplates, which fit Avery label sizes 5164 and 5264, are available in either PDF or DOC form, with the DOC version being especially convenient as you can type the book owner's information into the bookplate before printing. (These are also ideal for small lending libraries or the "Little Free Libraries" that are springing up in front yards across America.)

Everything on the site is free, or get the entire collection of bookmarks and bookplates (nearly 250 files!) in one handy download for $7.

Printable Luggage Tags

Labeling your luggage is always smart, but for extra class, how about monogrammed luggage tags? I'm not talking about some leather dealio you'll pay big bucks for in a specialty store. I've just added new free printable luggage tags to my aptly-named site PrintableLuggageTags.com, with one for each letter of the alphabet.

There are now more than 50 tags to choose from, including animal, nature, and sports themes. There are cute tags as well as sophisticated tags. They print with 10 on each page.

These tags are business card size and can be slipped inside most standard luggage tag holders. They're easy to print on paper, cardstock, or business card stock (such as by Avery) from an office supply store. And they're not just for suitcases. You can put these tags into portfolio folders or print them onto adhesive paper or labels and stick them to your belongings.

Download the luggage tags for free in either PDF or DOC form. The DOC versions can be opened in Microsoft Word or another DOC-compatible program, and you can then type on them before printing rather than handwrite.

Thanks again for sending me your ideas for new printables. I have more additions and sites coming to you soon. Happy printing!

  » Kudos

I really appreciated this recent email from longtime newsletter subscriber Karen R.: "I have been subscribing to your newsletter for several years now and I would like to say thank you. I use your printable forms, calendars, games, notes and just about every type of download you have. You have saved me so many times I would not dare to count. It has become second nature to look on your site first when I need something for both work and for the Girl Guide unit I work with." Thanks so much, Karen!
