Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas and December, Festivus - whatever you celebrate, I hope you're having a great one. For gift-giving this year, I've added a selection of new Hanukkah and Christmas gift tags to www.FreePrintableGiftTags.net, and there are now more than 250 designs to choose from, all free to download and print.
The new designs (two dozen in all) include Hanukkah tags in traditional blue and gold colors, with menorahs, dreidels, snowflakes, and more. The new Christmas gift tags are also in full color, illustrated with nutcrackers, snowmen, wreaths, and more. There are also "Happy Holidays" and "Seasons Greetings" tags with candy, gifts, ornaments, trees, and even monsters who are wearing Santa hats.
Besides adorning and ID-ing packages, these tags can also be used with plates of baked goods (see this week's Kudos for details) and anything else you want to present to someone special. The tags are free in either PDF or DOC form. The DOC versions are handy if you want to type in the givers' and recipients' names before printing.
You can print gift tags for free year-round. Choose from other seasonal designs as well as birthday gift tags and even color-your-own tags for kids.

I'm really in the holiday spirit: I also managed to add 21 new Hanukkah, Christmas, Happy Holidays, and New Year's greeting cards to www.FreePrintableGreetingCards.net. I know that many of you plan ahead to send printable cards (they save time, money, and trips to the store), but I've also heard that they come in especially handy for people who leave card-mailing to the last minute. I'm not naming names! And here's another confession: If you don't get to your Christmas card list by Dec. 25, you can always send New Year's cards.
Many of these new designs are similar to those on the brightly colored printable gift tags: nice illustrations of Hanukkah dreidels, winter snowflakes, and Christmas candies. The New Year's cards include balloons, champagne glasses, and party hats. There are also a few more subdued, "retro" designs, such as a Victorian Christmas scene and a child on a sled.
These cards can be instantly printed from your home or office computer for free if you choose the PDF version (just print it out, fold it, and write on it in pen). Or, you could opt for the convenient, customizable DOC version, which is just $4 per design and can be typed into and edited again and again, added names, special holiday messages, and so on.
Please keep your ideas coming, whether you're my mom or any other FreePrintable.net user. I have lots more holiday stuff on the way, and I also need ideas for 2012 and beyond. Happy printing!

I was reading some of the FreePrintable.net compliments I received this week, and wouldn't you know, one of them is from my mom. She wrote: "Dear Kevin, you saved the day. It is the day before Thanksgiving and I made my famous Cranberry Nut Bread for a few friends at the office. I realized this morning at 5 a.m. I forgot name tags for my little baked gifts. Free printables to the rescue. I printed out the cute little cards with Happy Thanksgiving on the cover, addressed them, and poof I was done. At the office at 6:30 a.m. right on time. You are the best. Happy Thanksgiving. Love, Mom." I really got a kick out of my mom going through the FreePrintable.net site to let me know she enjoys the gift tags. You know, mom, if you want to talk you can just call. Love you.
