FreePrintable.net news

September 20, 2011
Hi from Kevin at FreePrintable.net, where a busy printer is a happy printer.

Yesterday, I drove to Seattle for a conference. On the way, I got a tour of the Living Computer Museum, which was formerly Paul Allen's (the Microsoft guy) private collection of minicomputers from the 1970s era. It's still his collection, but now it's a little less private, and they're working toward having it be a museum that will be open to the public in a few years. But I got to get my geek on with a private tour. I saw amazing old hardware that they have maintained and gotten working again, including a Xerox Alto, the first computer to have some features you may be familiar with, such as a mouse and a graphical interface. Then it was back to readying more printables for you, including new 2012 calendar variations at www.Printable2012calendars.com and new Hebrew year and 2012 calendars at www.PrintableJewishCalendar.com

» New 2012 Calendars
I can tell that FreePrintable.net users like to plan their business and personal lives far in advance, based on all the requests I've had recently to add even more calendar variations to www.Printable2012calendars.com. Done and done! I recently added designs including the ever-popular wallet calendar as well as horizontal and vertical all-on-one-page grids and versions with the holiday dates in red type.

The calendars are easy to download and print in PDF or Microsoft Word form. Both options are free. The Word versions can be opened and edited in any DOC-compatible program, and you can customize them with birthdays, appointments, and more for home and office use.

Yikes! Next year is barely three months away.

» Jewish Calendars for 5772

And for Jewish readers, next year is practically here. (Rosh Hashanah starts at sundown on Sept. 28 this year). I've already added free 5772 and 2012 calendars to www.PrintableJewishCalendar.com. There are calendars for each month of the year.

Next year's Jewish calendars are available in PDF form in four styles: "traditional" 5772 calendars with Hebrew days of the week and Jewish holidays noted; calendars for Hebrew year 5772 as above but with Gregorian equivalents; 2012 calendars that simply show Jewish holidays; and  the same as above but with Jewish dates shown also.

I'm keeping previous years' calendars up on the site, too, in case people would like to download them for reference and record-keeping. The site also has a cool feature that tells you (in bold text) the day's Hebrew date. There's also a custom calendar generator that lets you create your own Jewish calendar, choosing Gregorian or Hebrew months, or a combination of the two, and print it instantly.

Lately, I've been reliving the past with my appreciation of classic computing, but I'm also looking to the future with all-new printables for the holidays and beyond. Please email and let me know what you'd like to see me add next. Happy printing!

Brian K. wrote me a funny email, grateful for the free printables at PrintablePaper.net. He  wrote, "Thx tons.  Bailed my butt out for forgetting to buy a staff book for my kid's music assignment."
