FreePrintable.net news

August 23, 2011
Hi from Kevin at FreePrintable.net, where a busy printer is a happy printer.

Things have been pretty lively in my world this week. A television crew was shooting an episode of the new police drama, Grimm, on our street, with no warning to the residents. It was pretty cool to be in the middle of the action, but it made for a traffic mess. In other entertainment news of the week, I was an extra on the TNT series, Leverage, which films in Portland and is one of my favorite TV shows. And after doing my best as "Man Walking on Sidewalk," I got to work creating new printables!  In fact, I have a bunch of new greeting cards (including LED cards) and invitations up on FreePrintableGreetingCards.net and PrintInvitations.net.

» LED Greeting Cards
I've just added 25 new designs to FreePrintableGreetingCards.net, including an all-new type of card: LED cards. Mimicking the look of an electric sign, these cards come in both small (quarter-fold) and large (half-fold) sizes, in blue, green, orange, purple and red. They don't literally "light up"; instead, create a cool design (as shown) by coloring in triangles by hand to form letters.

(If you don't see the picture, click "Always display images from kevin@freeprintable.net" or "Load Images," etc.)

The other new designs are colorful, themed cards, most of them for birthdays. There are sports, sea life, monsters, space, spiders, superhero cats and dogs, music, and even sushi.

Now the site has nearly 200 cards to instantly download and print, for occasions such as weddings, showers, illness, and holidays. They're all free as PDFs, or pay just $4 per design for the DOC versions you can customize in Microsoft Word.

» New Invitations

Ready to party? There are 20 new invitation designs at PrintInvitations.net. They include quirky animal cards (a monkey, tiger, and bird being festive together) as well as cute balloons and chipmunks for little kids. There's also a happy dragon, colorful fish, and happy children. All are available in both quarter-fold and half-fold sizes.

The new invitations are similar in style to some of the new greeting cards at FreePrintableGreetingCards.net, so you can "match" your invitations to your cards, if you'd like. (For example, an octopus invitation with a sea life birthday card).

Like the cards, the invitations are free to print in PDF form. However, if you opt for the $6 premium version, you can edit the cards in Microsoft Word, typing party details, RSVP contacts, and other information directly onto the card before printing. Very convenient!

I have a bunch of new printables on the way, including new sites as well as holiday printables. Stay tuned, let me know what's on your printables wish list, and happy printing!
