FreePrintable.net news

Oct. 12, 2010
Hi from Kevin at FreePrintable.net, where a busy printer is a happy printer.

Whew! My head is spinning. I'm thrilled that so many of you entered the HP printer giveway, but it made choosing the winners even harder than I had expected. I loved seeing all of your entries. The results are in, so keep reading for the news on who will soon be getting a brand-new web-connected printer in the mail. Also, FreePrintable.net is up to nearly 3,000 Friends or "Likes" on Facebook. You can't even imagine how cool all of this is for me! I am so grateful to you for supporting FreePrintable.net over the years, and for taking the time to let me know how the printables have helped you in your day-to-day life. There are many more to come, I promise! Also this week I wanted to let you know about new international destinations available via FreePrintable.net sister site, FaxZero.com.

» Printer Giveaway Results
When Hewlett-Packard approached me about hosting a giveaway of five new Photosmart Premium Touchsmart Web All-in-One printers from its new line of web-connected printers, I had no idea that it would get such an amazing response, or that it would be so difficult to select the winners. As I mentioned in earlier newsletters, three of the printables will go to what I call "superusers" - people whose entries I feel best capture the spirit of free printables. The other two printers are being given away to random users who sent in their comments or posted them on Facebook on the FreePrintable Wall.

I ended up picking three very different "types" of users, largely because I felt that their responses illustrated the wide variety of things for which people use FreePrintable.net. Each of these people will be sent an HP Touchsmart printer:

Christina M., who wrote: "I am the remediation teacher for the AHSGE (Alabama High School Graduation Exam) at Boaz High School. I have used your printables to help my students do remediation in Math, Language Arts, Reading, Biology, and Social Studies. We've used the maps to identify states and boundary lines, the class charts allow me to give a list of students to other teachers who are assisting in remediation, and sometimes we just do fun stuff like the mazes. In addition to remediation for the AHSGE, I also assist the students in their other classes. We have created resumes, cover letters, and thank you letters. I also personally use your site quite liberally. I create menu calendars for the entire month, use the certificates and graph paper for my students, coloring pages for my children, and since we are building a house, your to-do lists have been invaluable. The best thing is, I can afford it. Your site has helped me provide for my class, my kids, and my busy life. Thank you!"

Angie K., who posted on Facebook: "I use templates from FreePrintable.net in many different areas of my life -- professionally and personally. I am a paralegal and use the legal and other business templates almost daily. I am also the Executive Director of Kids' Chance of S.C., a non-profit organization that provides scholarships to dependents of South Carolina workers who have been seriously injured or killed on the job. I use many of the letters, business forms, and flyer templates in my work for Kids' Chance. Additionally, I use many of the family templates for budgeting, grocery lists, and calendars for my family. I also keep a file full of coloring pages in my desk drawer so when clients bring children, I can give them something to do while they wait!"

Suzzie G., who wrote: "I have been using FreePrintable.net for quite some time now to help keep my home running smoothly. We use them for the kids' chore charts, household finances, getting things organized, and homework help for my girls. All those things are wonderful on their own, but when I decided to open my own business is when FreePrintable.net came to my rescue in the biggest way. I was able to open my business almost three months ahead of schedule due to the business forms provided on this site. The cost of having all those forms professionally printed was enormous. Thank you so much for providing such a great service! The charts are helping to organize my photography business as well. Keep up the good work ... we are all truly grateful for all you provide."

And, as they say, "without further ado," here are the two randomly chosen winners of an HP Touchsmart printer:

Ron S., who said he appreciates being able to use free printables in his professional, personal, and family life. "I use the calendars, banners, and coloring pages for my church and community involvement. I use the mazes, games and game-sheet replacement pages for play and quality time with my grandchildren."

Horace K., who wrote that a friend told him about FreePrintable.net when they were working to get a nonprofit group together for FTD (frontal temporial lobe dementia) patients. "We needed forms and other items like certificates. FreePrintable.net has really been there to help us. With limited funds available to work with, we have found them to be a great resource for us."

Congratulations to all of the giveway winners. The HP web-connected printers have a touch screen from which you can print any of more than 6,500 documents from FreePrintable.net and lots of other Internet sites without touching your computer. I really do wish I could send all of you a printer, Oprah-style. But I hope you're still happy with all the free and low-cost printables. Thanks again for participating, and for your kind comments!

» FaxZero International

It's only been seven months since I added international faxing service to my site, FaxZero.com. But for the third time, I'm putting more countries on the list of places that can be faxed with the low-cost service, and now more than 180 countries can be faxed. The newest destinations include: Burkina Faso, Chad, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Ivory Coast, Nepal, Niger, Suriname, Syria, Togo and Yemen. Some nations can be faxed for as little as $3.40. I started FaxZero in 2006, and the site still offers free faxing in the U.S. and Canada. You can fax for free twice a day, up to three pages each. For unlimited faxes per day, a premium fax option (in the U.S. and Canada) is available for $1.99 per fax. Premium faxes also get priority delivery. To send an international fax, just go here:

I feel like I can't thank you enough for all the thoughts, ideas, and compliments you've shared over the duration over the giveaway. Please keep your ideas coming, and I'll keep the printables coming. Happy printing!
