FreePrintable.net news

Nov. 23, 2010
Hi from Kevin at FreePrintable.net, where a busy printer is a happy printer.

Happy Thanksgiving! (Or, to those readers outside the U.S., happy late November!) Our family is almost done shopping for our first Thanksgiving feast in our new Oregon home. We like to do the "orphan Thanksgiving," inviting our friends who may not have anyone in town to celebrate with. My wife loves to cook and bake, and the more the merrier! We're also hoping for a decent snowfall so the kids can get some snowman-building in. As promised, this week's newsletter includes a huge roundup of Thanksgiving printables. I am so grateful that you're subscribed to this newsletter, and that I can make my living creating useful websites that help people. (And you can go to my little site www.GratefulEveryday.com to tell the world what you're grateful for.) Also, I've added a cool new feature to FreePrintable.net that lets you see the most popular items by category on each site.

» Thanksgiving Printables
It's a veritable "feast" of Thanksgiving printables at the FreePrintable.net sites. You can find everything from Thanksgiving dinner shopping lists to turkey recipe cards, ready to instantly download and print to your home or office computer.

Kids love Thanksgiving coloring pages, and there are dozens of free designs to choose from at FreePrintableColoringPages.net. There's also free Thanksgiving stationery and letterhead, and even a turkey fax cover sheet.

Printables are especially handy if you're looking last-minute, and don't have time to step away from the kitchen and run to the store - if the store is even open. There is a nice cornucopia gift tag at FreePrintableGiftTags.net, perfect for attaching to gifts of food. And if you're canning fruit or veggies, or making gifts in a jar, don't miss the printable canning labels at PrintableLabels.net. If it's a Thanksgiving card you need, visit FreePrintableGreetingCards.org.

Thanksgiving is also the perfect time to present someone with a thank you certificate from FreePrintableCertificates.net. The free PDF version can be printed out and written upon in pen, while the premium DOC version ($5) can be opened in Microsoft Word and typed onto before printing.

» Printables By Popularity

I recently added a new feature to the FreePrintable.net sites that is useful and, honestly, just plain interesting. Each category is now sorted by popularity. Before, categories were sorted in no particular order. But now, the most popular downloads bubble to the top. The most popular printables for each site have always been featured on the homepage, but now you can see the popular stuff at the category level. For instance,

http://www.FreePrintableCertificates.net/category/worlds_best

shows that World's Best Mom is the most popular "World's Best" certificate, followed by World's Best Dad.

At http://www.PrintableSigns.net/category/restriction, you can see that No Smoking is a more popular restriction than No Talking. And No Cell Phones is downloaded more than No Dog Poop... so I guess you can tell which one people dislike more :)

Please keep sending me your ideas for new printables and sites! I'll be adding much more for the holidays and beyond. Happy printing!

Kevin

  » Kudos

I've been getting lots of nice notes from people who use the classroom printables at PrintablePaper.net and TeachersPrintables.net. Brenda, from Texas, wrote: "I just wanted to say thank you for posting all the great, free, downloadable .PDFs of different papers. We use the Penmanship Paper for my 1st grader to practice his writing."
