FreePrintable.net news

Sept. 28, 2010
Hi from Kevin at FreePrintable.net, where a busy printer is a happy printer.

You know that feeling that you get when you've been working on a new and interesting project for months, and then it's finally done and you can tell everyone? Today I have that feeling, because I've launched a new FreePrintable.net app for HP printers. And you know that feeling that you get when HP gives you a stack of printers to give away to your friends? You don't? I do. (It's a pretty awesome feeling.)

» My App on HP Printers

This is something I've been working on for a long time, and I'm excited to finally be able to share it with you.

Hewlett-Packard (a little company that you might have heard of that makes printers) has this awesome new line of "web-connected" printers. The printers have a touch screen, and let you print stuff without even touching the computer. You can choose ready-made printable templates from the screen, then it prints what you want, it's super easy and fun. The printer can download apps to print different sorts of things, and a few months ago HP asked if I would create a FreePrintable.net app for their printers. I was surprised and honored, and today I'm happy to announce that the FreePrintable.net app is available. The app allows people who own compatible printers to preview and print more than 6,500 documents from FreePrintable.net.

(Here's what the printer looks like.)

Of course, you already know about FreePrintable.net and you already print my printable documents and templates from your computer. Don't worry, I'll always continue to offer printables on my web sites. My hope is that by also offering some of them on HP's cool new printers, a lot more people learn about FreePrintable.net.

Which brings us to the next part - HP gave me some printers to give away!

» Printer Giveaway

Now what good is doing a project with a big-time printer company if you can't convince them to give you a few printers to give away to your loyal newsletter readers. Right? HP gave me 5 of their Photosmart Premium Touchsmart Web All-in-One Printers to give away. So I want to have some fun with this, on my Facebook page.

Want a chance at getting a printer? Here's what you should do:

- First, log into your Facebook account and go to the FreePrintable.net Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/FreePrintable

- Next, Click the button to "Like" FreePrintable.net (if you haven't already)

- Last, at the top of the page, there's an area where you can write about FreePrintable.net or post a picture. So tell me how you use the FreePrintable.net printables. You can tell me in words -- write 100 or so words about how you use them for your kids, your business, your education, or whatever. Or you can tell me with a picture: upload a picture of yourself with your favorite or most useful FreePrintable.net document.

I've got five printers to give away. All of the entries will get a random chance of getting one of two printers. The other three printers are going out to superusers -- to my favorite written entries or pictures which I feel capture the spirit of free printables. The deadline is next Thursday, October 7.

Although everyone is welcome to post to the FreePrintable.net Facebook page, the printer giveaway is only available to people in the US and Canada, because the printers that they gave me to give away work in the US and Canada.

Thanks for reading! This week I'm putting the finishing touch on a bunch of new printables. I'll be back in your inbox next week to tell you about them.

"L" wrote a nice note thanking me for the printable wedding planners. "Just downloaded your wedding planner -- just what was needed by my very scatter-brained friend who is hoping to get married in 12 weeks time. 'Hoping' is the keyword here! Thanks to you it may just happen."

Awww, FreePrintable.net is making marriages happen. Also saving friendships -- I'm not going to publish L's name in case her "scatter-brained" friend reads this :)
