FreePrintable.net news

May 11, 2010
Hi from Kevin at FreePrintable.net, where a busy printer is a happy printer.

There are so many amazing corners of our Earth, but I have a soft spot for the Pacific Northwest. I just got back from a short road trip with my family. We went to Portland, Oregon and visited a children's museum, a store that sells nothing but socks, a cool candy shop, and a few parks (even a dog park for Louie, our rescued Dalmatian). I feel so fortunate to have a flexible work schedule that lets me hit the road like that. I know everyone can't have the job of their dreams. If you're job-hunting, please be sure to check out InstantResumeTemplates.com, CVtemplates.net, and CoverLetterExamples.net. I just added a bunch of new CV templates, too, for ranging in focus and complexity. Also this week I want to tell you about a site I really enjoy - and it's not even one of my own.

» New CV Templates
Curriculum vitae, or CV, is essentially serves the same as purpose a resume, but the term "CV" is more common in academia and medicine, and in countries outside the United States. Also, many people, especially educators, keep a CV up to date even if they aren't looking for a job. It's a great way to give anyone an overview of their life, education, experience, and skills. CVtemplates.net has dozens of designs and formats to choose from, including CVs designed for specific industries, academic CVs, and Europass CV templates. I've just added six new styles of templates, each in both letter and A4 format, for a total of 12 new designs. You can see all the new templates here:

All of the CV templates are free to download, print, and edit. Just open a template in Microsoft Word and customize as needed by typing your information over the placeholder details.

» 'Bizarre But True' Newsletter
I don't often write about others' web sites in this newsletter - I figure I have enough of my own free printable stuff to tell you about. I'm making an exception today to tell you about one of my favorite, funny e-mail newsletters: This Is True. "True" is a weekly newsletter that tells readers about bizarre, but absolutely true, news stories. The absurd lawsuits, stupid thieves, and nutty politicians covered in True are always worth a laugh.

This is True is written by my good friend Randy Cassingham. I'll tell you something about Randy: he's one of the smartest people that I know, and he's funny. He's been writing this weekly newsletter since 1994! (My first web site was in 1995 - he's even got me beat.) This is True is free, and I highly recommend you subscribe - I do!

Please keep your ideas coming! I'm working on some new additions, including a bunch of new forms, charts, and entirely new printables sites. Thanks so much, and happy printing!

  » Kudos
I hope you all find the FreePrintable.net sites helpful. Jim C. does. He wrote: "Your site has helped me many times now when I have needed something specific, like a resume and cover letter. I also used a complaint letter recently, and it worked to help me resolve an issue with a local business that I couldn't have done as politely myself. Thank you."
