FreePrintable.net news

June 9, 2009
Hi from Kevin at FreePrintable.net, where a busy printer is a happy printer.

If you have kids in school like I do, are a teacher, or are taking courses yourself, the last few weeks have probably been especially hectic. I don't know about you, but I'm ready to relax with a little summer reading. My latest Web site, FreePrintableBookmarks.net, will certainly come in handy. But before you crack open that novel, please read this edition of the FreePrintable.net newsletter! There's also a preview of the wide selection of Father's Day printables available at my sites.

» Printable Bookmarks
I love to read computer books, of course, but also biographies, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and anything by Christopher Moore. But I don't like dog-earring books by folding down their corners, whether they're library books or from my own collection. A bookmark isn't always handy, so I would end up grabbing the nearest scrap of paper, which inevitably would fall out, losing my place. I have a friend who accidentally returned a book to the library with a $20 bill still stuck in it. At least it went to a good cause! Apparently, many FreePrintable.net users have had similar experiences, because I've had many requests for a site featuring free printable bookmarks. It's finally here! FreePrintableBookmarks.net has two dozen bookmark designs to download and print, all of them free. They cover literary genres from mystery to science fiction to religion, and there are birthday and seasonal bookmarks as well. Check them out here:

All of the bookmarks are in full-color, approximately 9 inches in height, and print out in PDF form, ready to trim and fold into fun and functional placeholders. The design of the bookmarks is really cool: Rather than a one-sided illustration, on most of the bookmarks the cartoon-style art extends from the front of the bookmark to the back. I think my favorite is the sci-fi bookmark with flying saucers. Print out your favorites on cardstock or plain paper and never mark your place with a scrap of paper again!

» Father's Day Printables
Father's Day is coming up June 21, and there are plenty of free printables to help with gift-giving and honoring Dad. From printable gift tags to greeting cards to coloring pages, and of course "World's Best Dad" certificates, you can find just the right printables for Pop and instantly download and print them from the convenience of your own home or office. Here are a few of the Father's Day printables. (I'll share more in a future edition of the newsletter, or feel free to use the handy-dandy search box at FreePrintable.net here: www.FreePrintable.net/search.php)

I was pleased to get this compliment from DotToDots.net user Tammy F.: "Your dot-to-dots are really cute and our students like them. Thank you!" Thank YOU, Tammy. I'm hoping to add more dot-to-dots soon. They're getting to be as popular as my free printable coloring pages!
